I never got around to doodling cub!Kion up until now, so I decided to give him a shot. Like some Lion Guard fans, I'd like to believe that Kion wouldn't get along with Kovu or most of the Outlanders. I feel his trust would have to earned, much like it has had to be earned with most of the non-Pridelander character he's come across (i.e. Jasiri).

It's also interesting to note that, despite being based on Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, Simba's Pride lacked a definite Tybalt figure. For those who aren't familiar with the original play, Tybalt was the douchebag cousin of Juliet and a huge fanboy of street fights and drawing swords when it really wasn't necessary. All for the name of family honour. In short, a Capulet poster boy. His character was tragic because, in a way, he quickly sealed his own fate by refusing to listen to Benvolio (Romeo's non-douchebag cousin) and insisting on war rather than peace. Thus, Romeo killed him near the play's climax.

So, here you have Kion taking on a definite Tybalt role in this fake screenshot. I used something called Medibang Paint Pro for this piece and I highly recommend it to those who can't afford to buy Manga Studio or are struggling to find an alternative to SAI or FireAlpaca. It's basically a remastered version of the latter, with better line stabilisation and more tools but it still appears and acts like a lightweight piece of software. Definitely one of the best free art softwares out there.

But isn't Nuka based off of Tyblat?

I actually had an idea that Kion's Shakespearean story could potentially become the story of Coriolanus. If you don't know about the story, it's about a military leader who was once well respected by his land. However, the economy goes down and food has been witheld. Cauis Martius (before he is called, Coriolanus)  is blamed for all of this and goes from being once well-respected to being the most hated man in all the land. Martius is exiled and becomes bitter with all the hatred and how he got exiled from his home and vows vengeance on his homeland. He then works along side with an Army lead by Cominius, and impresses him with his courage and fierceness and gives him the name, Coriolanus.

There's more to the story. But I don't want to give out any spoilers and this was only an idea. This Shakespearean story just seemed to be a decent  fit for Kion if he had a Shakespearean story. It's fine to hate the idea or like it.
