I Didn't Know I Could Feel This Way

It's been a few years since I last did anything for Lady and the Tramp and yet it's still one of my favourite Disney movies.

I get that the sequel is a mixed bag for some but I thought it was pretty harmless. People complain that Lady and Tramp weren't in it all that much but considering the fact that they also complain about Tramp sounding different or not being as badass, I think they were in it as much as they needed to be. Although I disagree on the 'Tramp not being a badass anymore' bit because I'm pretty sure we weren't watching the same movie. I'd say throwing yourself at a mastiff-type dog to protect your kid when you're a Schnauzer-mix is pretty damn badass.

Anyway, I really liked Angel as a character. I get that giving the stray role to the female this time around is hardly original but she gave us a whole new insight into living on the streets. Whereas Tramp enjoyed being free and causing mayhem, Angel just longs for a family and the security of one. When you think about it, Angel was never really independent or free as Scamp claimed she was. She lived with a group of dogs that she couldn't relate to at all and, worse yet, the leader of said group of dogs was a creepy creep who felt he owned her.

I wish we could've had a solo from her as well. We get a mere two minutes of backstory and I think her singing about her former life as a housedog would've gone well with what she sang about in the 'Family' song too. It's clear she understands what being part of a family was like and I can imagine her somewhat struggling to adjust to life with Scamp's family, since her previous five owners have ditched her for some reason or another. After a while, however, she begins to relax and becomes very attached to them, despite the chaos of them owning seven dogs.

Seriously, Darling, your husband was right. Seven dogs and a baby is insane. xD

Also, made her collar pink because of the ribbon she got at the end of the film and because I believe there's a plush toy out there with a light pink collar. However, a piece of artwork exists with her sporting a yellow collar, which I guess is canon as opposed to the toy.

Hey, that's interesting; btw I always imagined as a child if Lady and The Tramp 2 was made in 1992 instead?
